Fulcrum Wheels designs and distributes wheels and components for racing bicycles in over 30 countries. The company's headquarters are located in Arcugnano, in the Berici hills, near Vicenza. Fulcrum Wheels was founded in July 2004, from the idea and passion for bicycles of three aerospace engineers. The strengths of this young company are the use of exclusive patents, constant technological research, and a youthful and captivating design. Fulcrum wheels were created for road racing, but in 2008, two more major innovations joined the Fulcrum family: off-road wheels that would soon live up to their name, achieving excellent results, and carbon fiber road bike cranks—the first Fulcrum products for high-end components. Fulcrum Wheels uses only ultra-light materials, such as aluminum, carbon fiber, and aramid, while taking care not to diminish the wheel's durability. Unique in the world are the 2:1 Two-to-one systems, for bending the spokes at critical points, Dynamic Balance, for consistently balanced rotational dynamics, MoMag for long-lasting assembly and perfect spoke retention, and AFS (Axial Fixing System) for complete compatibility with all off-road disc braking systems. Fulcrum is also entering the world of tubeless road wheels with the innovative 2-Way Fit system: an exclusive rim profile that allows both a tubeless and a classic tire to be mounted on the same wheel. Fulcrum road wheels won the trust of great champions from the very beginning, and in their first four years they have reached the finish line of the world championship four times in a row: in 2005 with Tom Boonen and in 2006 and 2007 with Paolo Bettini, followed by the triumph of Alessandro Ballan in 2008. But the triumphs go beyond road competitions. Julien Absalon was the XC World Champion in 2006 and 2007, and in 2008 he won the gold medal at the Beijing Olympics!
